Procrastinators vs mice:
finally went to the DIY store to get new weapons and bought some EVIL DEATH TRAPS which I baited with choc chip cookies. This morning we came downstairs and saw that the trap was sprung. But look closer, yeauch what’s that? A mangled mouse?
No, it’s a slug… shudder… bleuch!

Coffee walnut cake
Dear Husband’s birthday so I baked his favourite cake. Last year I made a coffee walnut cake from my Good Housekeeping cookbook and it was a total disaster, the only failure I’ve ever had from that book. So this year I trawled the internet and found a Nigel Slater recipe:

I’m sad to hear of the death of Humphrey Littleton. A great jazz trumpeter and hilariously deadpan host of the world’s greatest radio panel game: ‘I’m sorry I haven’t a clue’.
He could deliver the filthiest lines of smut and innuendo without cracking and have all the listeners rolling on the floor with laughter.

Haven’t revisited this for a while. I’ve eaten a few haggi since then but I’ve thrown the packaging away before I remembered to blog about them. What a rubbish blogger.
